Detachment

Oil on canvas
50 x 70cm

This work comes from a concept I wanted to explore following a personal need: sensorial and emotional detachment towards the physical act.
What happens when the perception of the value in a physical contact vanishes within you? How does the chaos that arises modify our self? Why is there such a thing as desensitization?
I don't know the answers, therefore I'll just represent the chaotic movement that surrounds an intimate act, and I observe it.

The front view impacts with the observer's eye leaving everything to the narrative: a man embraces a woman, grabs her breast, and holds her close as if he's trying to regain a lost sensation. She is conscious of this but doesn't return it, remains still, with her face in the shadows.

On the background, a chaotic movement of glacial colors is lashed by a passional, bloody vivid red cut.

The figurative narration is accompanied by a purely instinctive gesture, just as life's passions and torments are capable of altering the perception of reality.
